Two short talks by Ian Glover and James Hinton, then discussions to follow. Doors at 6:30; first talk at 7PM.
Ian Glover will be presenting on 'The History of Programming as Linguistic Abstractions'. The talk will cover how we might be able to learn how AI will impact the future of programming by looking to the past.
James Hinton will be presenting his talk called 'The Past and Future of Sampling in Music in the Age of AI'. James will be talking about how his process has evolved practically and theoretically with the advent of generative AI.
SPEAKER BIOS
JAMES HINTON is an internationally touring electronic musician known as The Range. He received Pitchfork Best New Music for his album Nonfiction and has been reviewed in The New York Times for his recent record potential as one of the bright lights of modern sampling in electronic music.
IAN GLOVER is a designer, developer and co-director of the contemporary art gallery Blade Study in New York. He also runs Remote Viewing Platform, a nomadic project exploring radio based artworks, with Stewart Bird and Carmelo Pampillonio.
